In my art I explore connect and experience nature - The Nature - and all that it entails: the spirit, the energy, the colours, our relationship to one another and sensuality.
Through creative process I silence my mind and connect to the abstract forms and figurative expressions emphasising duality of the human condition. With some interest in story telling I explore how visual side of communication can be challenged with possibilities, unpredictability and chance when control is at loose. When there are characters, they are either imaginary or based on my experience and with them I meditate on matters of magic, imagination, beauty and reality.
Statement
When I enter into the process of making, I am interested in the way that accident and chance can impact the appearance and understanding, what can only be discovered through the act of making. I begin painting sometimes tentatively with the line or pure colour. Painting, for me, tells a story and I often reflect on accidental nature of stories alongside the world we are living in. I work with various materials - exploring natural and synthetic fabrics, oils and dry mediums. New elements and sources are always entering the process, recently objects from my wardrobe. This leads to new discoveries, new forms and I welcome their appearance within the work. For me, painting at its core is a transference of thoughts and emotions into creative storytelling, through which I seek to understand, experience and see through this fluent present moment.
